Esty Announces Strong Fundraising Quarter
CHESHIRE, CT – Former State Representative Elizabeth Esty announced that her congressional campaign raised more than $200,000 for the third quarter in a row—demonstrating steady, ongoing fundraising and organizational strength as the campaign for Connecticut’s 5th District enters this pivotal election year. Her campaign has raised $825,068 in total and begins 2012 with $576,541 cash on hand.
“I’m honored by the support we’ve received from people across Connecticut’s 5th District and the country,” Elizabeth Esty said. “Folks want a strong Democratic candidate who can win the 5th District in November. They’re tired of the political insiders and special interests getting ahead while families struggle, and they want common sense solutions to the real problems we’re facing. The response we’ve gotten from voters in cities and towns across northwest Connecticut has been overwhelming, and I plan to keep on getting out and earning their support."
This latest filing period accounts for funds raised between October 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011. The Connecticut primary election for non-presidential contests is August 14.
